1) Create a word matrix like the examples we have looked at. Choose one of the following root words to use:

• velop
• cept
• struct
• quad
• digit

You can use a dictionary to research new words and to ensure that you know what the words mean. Before you draw your matrix, you may want to create a list or mind map of the morphemes you can add to the root word to build longer words.
