Welcome September Reception starters

Welcome to our school community! We are thrilled to have your child join us on this exciting journey of learning and growth. The Reception Starter Welcome Booklet has been carefully crafted to provide you with all the necessary information to navigate through this important phase in your child's educational journey. Please take the time to read through it together with your child, as it can help ease any anxieties and make the transition smoother for both of you.

Below is a list of key dates and information based on your child's transition to school:

New Parents/Carers Welcome Meeting

Tuesday 22nd May, 6.30pm - 7:30pm

This meeting is for parents and carers only, and it is an opportunity for us to share with you the principles underpinning our Early Years practice and provision. It is also a chance for you to ask any initial questions you may have. It is desirable that ALL parents/carers attend this session.

Children and Parent/Carer Taster Sessions:

Tuesday 11th June at 9.30am -10.30am OR 1.30pm - 2.30pm

OR

Thursday 13th June at 9.30am -10.30am OR 1.30pm - 2.30pm

We want the first experience of the school environment for your child to be something they share with you, their family. Therefore, we have arranged for these parent/carer and child sessions to be the very first part of the children's Induction Programme.

This is an essential part of the induction process as it is important for both you and your child to have the chance to explore the learning environment, meet the team and share information about your child.

Children Taster Sessions WITHOUT Parents/Carers:

Thursday 4th July at 9.30am - 11.30 or 1pm - 3pm

Children visit the classrooms along with their class mates and staff who will be working with them to experience 'coming to school' in advance of September.

This is also an essential part of the induction processes it is the start of your child's independence and building their confidence within the classroom.

Virtual discussions with class teacher

Monday 1st July / Tuesday 2nd July / Wednesday 3rd July

You will be sent a link to book a 10 minute meeting with your child's class teacher to discuss what makes them unique. You can book a time that suits you best.
