LQ: Can I identify and understand symbols on a map?

 

TASK
1) Use the OS map key to find the meanings of the symbols. 
2) Choose one of the maps (Teignmouth or Dawlish Warren) and label the symbols. What can you see? Use the OS map key to help you. 

 

OPTIONAL TASK
Design a symbol for a football stadium, library, cinema or park. Remember that a good map symbol should be clear and simple; should show what the place is; be easy to remember and recognise and should be one solid colour.
