Finding our name

We work hard with the Explorers in recognising their own name and especially the letter that starts the name, and for our older children the sound this letter makes (the phoneme). A great way of doing this is to start with lots of words on a page, some of them being the child's name, you can also put the name in the centre for them to look at. Get children to circle or colour in their name.  Moving on from this you can use words that all start with the same letter to get them to really focus on the other letters or the length of their name.  If you would like to have a go at home please send us the pictures on tapestry or by email.
