Paignton Zoo - School from the Zoo

The Education Team at Paignton Zoo have been busy filming fun and exciting lessons for pupils to watch during lockdown. Lessons will go LIVE at 11am on Microsoft Teams. Don't worry if you miss the lesson, they will be recorded and will be posted on the 'Wild Planet Trust' YouTube page. 

Friday 15th January 2021 - Habitats

In this video experts will discuss the following:

- What is a habitat?

- How could we describe the habitats?

- Which habitats would the zoo animals inhabit in the wild, and how would that affect the way they live?

Friday 29th January 2021 - Adaptations

In this video experts will discuss the following:

- What is an adaptation?

- What adaptations can you observe in our animals and plants?

- How do they help them overcome different challenges in the wild?

- What adaptation would I choose...?

Friday 12th February 2021 - Rainforests 

In this video experts will discuss the following:

- What is the rainforest really like?

- What is life like in a multi-story habitat?

- Why is camouflage important?

- How do you stay in touch with friends you cannot see?

Friday 26th February 2021 - Skulls, Food and Food Chains

Paignton Zoo have an amazing collection of skulls, that will be used to help guess what an animal eats. Using the zoo animals as examples, we’ll also learn how to build a food chain.

Covering: herbivores, carnivores, omnivores, teeth, animal diets at the zoo and in the wild and food chains.
