We have a part time, temporary maternity cover vacancy for an enthusiastic, caring and talented Learning Support Assistant to join our friendly and dedicated staff team from September.

 

The role will involve supporting children across the school. You must have a passion for helping children’s learning, good literacy, numeracy and communication skills. Calmness, firmness, a good sense of humour and the ability to build good relationships are essential qualities. 

 

Key duties in the role include: 

Working under the direct instruction of teaching/senior staff to support access to learning for pupils and provide general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom. 

 

This may also include providing learning and care support for pupils with special educational needs (SEND) to help work towards the outcomes on their education and health care plan (EHCP). This will involve working with the teacher to plan and deliver activities and supporting the pupil with routines, transitions, and behaviour management.

You will have achieved a minimum of GCSE grade C / 4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths and should have previous experience of working with children, ideally in a school setting.

 

The hours and working pattern are: Thursdays and Fridays - 8.30am to 3.30pm (13 hours per week) term time only.

 

This is a temporary maternity cover position and is anticipated to run from 3rd September to Easter 2027.
