Please ensure that your child has the correct kit in school all week, which is clearly labelled. For more information about kit requirements, please visit our 'Physical Education & School Sports' page. We will ensure that PE kits are sent home at the end of every half term.
HOME LEARNING DAYS
Home Learning will be handed out on a Friday and collected in on a Wednesday. This will give you the opportunity to explore aspects of your child's learning if you wish.

AUTUMN TERM
Autumn Term Curriculum Map
Wednesday 14th October 2026 - Indoor Climbing
We had a fantastic time with Reach Outdoors at Parkfield's climbing wall today! We put on our harnesses and helmets before listening carefully as the instructors explained the different roles involved in climbing. One of us was the climber while the rest of us worked together as rocks and pebbles, helping to hold the rope safely. We all had the opportunity to challenge ourselves and have a go at climbing, showing great courage, determination and teamwork throughout the session. We are incredibly proud of what we achieved today. Well done, Kingfishers!
Tuesday 13th October 2026 - PSHE
In PSHE, we have been learning about the importance of caring for our environment. We discovered simple ways to save energy and water and found out more about climate change. Using our new knowledge, we created informative posters to encourage others to help protect our planet. Take a look!
Wednesday 7th October 2026 - Drumba
We have been enjoying our Drumba sessions this half term. We have been developing our fitness and timing through cardio, strength and flexibility in Drumba, as well as performing strong and powerful movements.
Thursday 1st October 2026 - Music
In Music, we have been learning to play the ukuleles. We have started to learn how to correctly hold it and are beginning to play along to different songs. Well done, Year 4!
Friday 25th September 2026 - PE
Year 4 have made a fantastic start to their team building lessons this half term. They have completed a range of activities, developing their teamwork and leadership skills.
Monday 21st September 2026 - Science
This week in Science, we have started learning about the digestive system. To help us understand how food is digested, we watched a demonstration using bread, juice and tights. We saw how food mixes with stomach acid, shown by the juice, before travelling through the intestines, shown by the tights. Afterwards, we explored the different parts of the digestive system and labelled each organ to understand the journey food takes through our bodies.
Friday 18th September 2026 - Maths
This week in Maths, Year 4 have been exploring 4-digit numbers. We have been learning how to find 10, 100 and 1,000 more or less than a given number, as well as how to round numbers to the nearest 10 and 100. To deepen our understanding of place value, we have used a range of practical resources, including Diennes blocks, place value counters and bead strings. We have also enjoyed playing dice games to create 4-digit numbers and challenge our learning partner.
Monday 7th September 2026 - English - Charlotte's Web
As we begin the new year, and a new term, our English learning – both Reading and Writing - will be based on the book ‘Charlotte's Web' by E.B. White.
This week, we will begin immersing ourselves in the story of Fern, Wilbur and Charlotte's adventures. We will be reading the first two chapters together. Everyone in class will have their own copy of the text. We will be using our tracking skills to follow the words and read along with the text.
