Buntings are a family of birds that includes the Cirl Bunting. This bird is very rare and can be found by the coast in South Devon. Just like us! Many Buntings are long distant migrants which means they travel many miles around the world every year. Just like we will be doing in our learning in this Term's theme!
The Class Teacher in Buntings for this year is Miss Alex Wallwork. Our Learning Support Assistants in this class are Mrs Emma Rose and Mrs Angela Kay.
The theme for the Summer term is 'From the Moors to the Sea'. This will be a whole school focus and give us plenty of opportunities to learn collaboratively across classes and key stages. Key Stage 1 will be researching local landmarks and be exploring geographical locations in Devon. This theme will include map reading and orienteering tasks to engage the children with the local environment. The children will be exploring materials and finding the best material for a purpose. This will provide opportunities for designing and creating objects based on our theme. We are looking forward to sharing our learning with you as we progress through the term.
For more information on our curriculum please look at our 'Summer Term Curriculum Plan' below.
